Transmitting from Charlotte NC, I am changing planes to head to Miami tonight and I’ll take the chance to write my experience in NYC as I attended to LAMC.
The experience of NYC it’s always unique every time I come here for business or pleasure, This time I got to meet lots of people from the music industry to share their opinions and discuss the direction of where the music industry is heading…
Arriving on Wednesday morning through La Guardia International airport I made my way directly to the Roosevelt Hotel where there were some panelists welcoming all people to LAMC, although the conference started one day before there were a long line for people that were not registered to the conferences yet, musicians, managers, A&R representatives from different record labels and mostly the press and media all over the place. I got to meet some of the band members of Volumen Cero, Los Amigos Invisibles, Natalia Lafourcade, Javier Garcia among others.
The very same day in the afternoon I attended the Summerstage at Central Park where they had an interesting mix of experimental bands with sounds compared with artists such as Bjork, Portishead, Radiohead and some of those tendencies…
All 3 days of the LAMC were and incredible source for me to meet important people from the industry and to see important acts in the world of Alternative music in Spanish, I see clearly how music in our countries are evolving immensely during the past decade and makes me proud to be Latinoamericano when I saw people from all over the world enjoying this excellent festival of bands and arts…
I’m about to take my flight now non stop to Ft. Lauderdale and I’m bringing great memories and good ideas to implement in my quest of creating music!
